We are excited to announce that Sarah Eaton has been selected to represent North Texas as part of the Souper Bowl of Caring National Youth Advisory Board for 2012-2013. Sarah is from Plano, Texas, a member of Our Lady of Angels parish, and a sophomore at John Paul II High School. She will have an opportunity to work with other young people across the nation and learn more about hunger-related issues, participate in service learning projects, act as a local media NYAB spokesperson and inspire others to "tackle hunger" in our community. Find out more about Sarah …

The Souper Bowl of Caring encourages young people to use Super Bowl weekend to collect donations or canned goods, or both, to help fight hunger and poverty in their community. “The vision God has put on our hearts is to see Super Bowl weekend become the largest time of giving and serving in this country,” says Founder and Executive Director, Rev. Dr. Brad Smith.

Participating groups are provided free materials and educational resources and every dollar collected is donated directly to the charity selected by the participant. Organizers ask only that groups report their collection amount so a national total can be determined.

The Souper Bowl of Caring calls youth to action-individuals, youth groups, civic organizations and schools are making a difference in the lives of others through this simple movement of caring. To learn more about Souper Bowl of Caring visit www.souperbowl.org
