Course Listings - How to Offer?
The Certificate in Youth Ministry Studies is a ministry training program for those in ministry with youth in both parish and school settings. It equips leaders with the practical tools and techniques needed for creative and comprehensive ministry with youth. Courses may be taken for Certificate credit or applied to graduate studies with the University of Dallas School of Ministry.
Internships and Apprenticeships
The Office of Youth and Young Adult Ministries works with parishes to encourage internships and apprenticeships as formative steps to entering lay ecclesial ministry in the Diocese of Dallas. Internships and apprenticeships may be custom tailored to the needs of the parish and the individual.
Formation for the Catechetical Leader
The Diocesan Department of Catechetical Services has ongoing formation opportunities for ministry professionals and volunteers. Check out their web pages for Newsletter, Calendar, Leadership Formation Program, Theology Courses and information on Faith Formation through the University of Dayton.
The certification procedures articulate a process whereby a person demonstrates compliance with the standards for professional competence. To receive the credential of certification is a professional acknowledgement that an individual has met the nationally recognized standards for competence in lay ecclesial ministry.
Additional Formation Opportunities
The Summit is a gathering of ministry leaders throughout the diocese and provides formation, professional growth, and spiritual development opportunities to be shared as Church. Lite breakfast and lunch are typically provided at each meeting and during those shared mealtimes, we encourage each of you to get to know your fellow minsters. Once a month, the Office of Youth, Young Adult, and Campus Ministries brings in dynamic and relevant speakers to share some fresh perspectives to help you grow your ministries within your parishes and the greater Church. Typically these meetings take place on a Tuesday and last from 9am – 3pm (times are subject to change).
National Conference on Catholic Youth Ministry (NCCYM)
NCCYM is the major connecting point for the profession of Catholic youth ministry in the
. This biennial conference is filled with a variety of opportunities to increase our knowledge, skills, and competence and numerous occasions to network, pray, and celebrate! Come together with over twenty-five hundred colleagues every other December (2016, 2018, 2020 ...) to be formed and transformed in our shared ministry to and with the young church.
