National Certificate in Youth Ministry Studies

The Certificate in Youth Ministry Studies is a ministry training program for those in ministry with youth in both parish and school settings. It equips leaders with the practical tools and techniques needed for creative and comprehensive ministry with youth. Courses may be taken for Certificate credit or applied to graduate studies with the University of Dallas School of Ministry.

Internships and Apprenticeships

The Office of Youth and Young Adult Ministries works with parishes to encourage internships and apprenticeships as formative steps to entering lay ecclesial ministry in the Diocese of Dallas. Internships and apprenticeships may be custom tailored to the needs of the parish and the individual.

Formation for the Catechetical Leader

National Certification Process for Lay Ecclesial Ministers

The certification procedures articulate a process whereby a person demonstrates compliance with the standards for professional competence. To receive the credential of certification is a professional acknowledgement that an individual has met the nationally recognized standards for competence in lay ecclesial ministry.
 

Additional Formation Opportunities

Catholic Youth Ministry Network (CYM) Meetings

These gatherings are open to anyone involved in youth ministry within the Diocese of Dallas. Through this network, youth ministers share ideas, receive formation and training, and stay informed about new Church documents.

National Conference on Catholic Youth Ministry (NCCYM)

NCCYM is the major connecting point for the profession of Catholic youth ministry in the United States . This biennial conference is filled with a variety of opportunities to increase our knowledge, skills, and competence and numerous occasions to network, pray, and celebrate! Come together with over twenty-five hundred colleagues every other December (2008, 2010, 2012, ...) to be formed and transformed in our shared ministry to and with the young church.
